“View” Costs Developer $300K & 11 Weeks Delay
In early August the developer of City Homes of Woodland Park had a clever idea. He thought it would be good for his development to bulldoze about an acre of adjacent Woodland Park so his new homes being built would have a view down to the creek.
Well, Woodland Heights people don’t take kindly to people bulldozing their park. They immediately called the City and brought his construction to a halt. His claim of “miscommunication with the bulldozer operator” was obviously BS.
The City has reached an agreement with the builder to pay $300K to the Parks Dept. I’m sure his insurance company covered that, but the eleven weeks of delay hurt the builder even more.

We need to have a special award for people like this.
