Heights Tortoise – Turbo

KHOU showed a Heights woman taking her 110 pound tortoise “Turbo” for a walk in Memorial Park. The KHOU video shows him moving along at a pretty good clip.

Turbo was a gift from an old boyfriend years ago (any story involving an old boyfriend has an odd twist to it) and is expected to live for a century and a half. Brenda thought he was a box turtle until he just didn’t stop growing. It turns out he is an African Spur Thigh Tortoise, a BIG tortoise.

Brenda says Turbo walks beside her at the park and gets lots of attention.
